About Mareen Haschke
Mareen Haschke is a native citizen of Berlin (Germany) and has been a freelance artist since 2006.
During her student exchange year in the United States in 1991/1992 she intensively worked on her drawing skills, inspired by and under the influence of her great art teacher at Apopka High School in Florida.
Starting with a pencil first she moved on to charcoal and sanguine crayons and last but not least to pastels. As late as in spring 2006 she acquainted herself with acrylic paintings. Her very first acrylic painting is called “Of the Sea”, inspired by the meaning and origin of her name.
Selling her art on eBay and being a member of several art groups there she has discovered those miniature artworks called ACEOs (Art Cards Editions and Originals) which have become increasingly popular. These little art cards measure 2.5” x 3.5” only. Besides larger works of art Mareen has also been creating such tiny paintings ever since. This was very helpful to improve her painting technique as to working in even the smallest detail.
